Introducing the Bible Wheel

Earlier this week, a reader's comment on Living With Fire led to an intriguing discovery.

The Bible Wheel is a circular presentation of the Bible that was discovered and developed by Richard A. McGough. As seen in the picture on the right, the Bible Wheel is made by rolling up a list of the sixty-six books of the Bible. What results is a wheel containing twenty-two spokes which correspond to the twenty-two letters of the Hebrew alphabet. As the picture demonstrates, each letter of the Hebrew alphabet corresponds to three books of Scripture.

The image above displays the seven divisions of the Bible in various shades of purple, red, and blue. Symmetrically placed divisions, such as the Five Books of the Law (Genesis to Deuteronomy) and the Five Wisdom Books (Job to Song of Songs), are marked with the same color. Divisions aligned on the same set of spokes (the same side/area of the wheel), such as the Law and the Major Prophets (Isaiah to Daniel), are marked by different shades of the same color. The Canon Wheel below displays the same information in a simplified format, using only the names of the seven divisions.

The information in this post can be found on the Bible Wheel website, which I highly recommend to all readers of Living With Fire.
